Novel coronavirus (COVID-19) impacts

The health and wellbeing of the Gold Coast community, our customers and City employees is our first priority.

The City is receiving advice from the Federal Government and Queensland Health on a daily basis to inform our response to the Novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation in the city.

This aquatic centre is now closed until further notice.

All direct debit memberships and enrolments will be suspended from 23 March 2020.

For paid up front memberships you can apply for a pro rata refund by emailing your name and membership details to aquaticcentre@goldcoast.qld.gov.au

Multi-visit passes will have remaining visits honoured when the venue reopens to the public.

Please be patient while refunds are processed and please do not call the centres as they will be processed remotely and the centres will not be staffed.

We will send updates to our members and guests on this evolving situation as they become available.

  • Are all Gold Coast Aquatic Centre pools heated?

    Yes, all the swimming pools are heated to a minimum of 27 degrees celsius all year round.

  • When is the best time to swim laps?

    The best time to swim laps is early in the morning between 6.30am and 8.30am. Please keep in mind that the pool is substantially busier on hot days and school holidays.

  • Do I have to watch my child's swimming lesson?

    During swimming lessons you are not required to watch, but it is appreciated if you stay within sight of the lesson, in case you are needed. Outside lessons you need to maintain active supervision of your child/children as per our pool rules.

  • Do I have to pay if I'm not swimming?

    Yes. When entering Gold Coast Aquatic Centre you are expected to pay a spectator entry fee. This fee covers the provision, maintenance and staffing of the facilities.

  • Does the centre close when it rains?

    No, the pool only closes when there is lightning in the vicinity for safety reasons.

  • Can I smoke at the pool?

    No. Gold Coast Aquatic Centre is a public place and no smoking is allowed in the centre.

  • Can I bring alcohol into the pool?

    No. Alcohol and glass are not allowed in the pool as per our conditions of entry.

  • How can I hire lanes or the pool?

    For school groups wishing to hire lanes or the pool please email aquaticcentre@goldcoast.qld.gov.au and request an aquatic hire agreement form, complete it and email it to the centre. If you are an individual swimmer and wish to hire a lane please contact us on 07 5582 8282.

  • Are there lockers to use?

    Pool side
    Lockers are available to swimmers and are located throughout the centre. For a small locker there is a charge of $2 and $3 for large lockers. They are available for use for a maximum of four (4) hours.

    Fitness centre
    Pin-coded lockers are provided and are free of charge to fitness centre members.
