Novel coronavirus (COVID-19) impacts

The health and wellbeing of the Gold Coast community, our customers and City employees is our first priority.

The City is receiving advice from the Federal Government and Queensland Health on a daily basis to inform our response to the Novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation in the city.

Parks remain open with visitors encouraged to take recommended health and social distancing precautions.

Playground equipment, BBQs and outdoor gym equipment: Our 600 playgrounds, 389 barbecues and 347 pieces of gym equipment will be closed until further notice. Signage will be installed over the next few days.

Park bookings: We will not take park bookings for at least two months.

Water fountains/bubblers: Based on advice from Queensland Health, these will remain turned on; however users should practice appropriate hygiene. The City will increase cleaning frequency.

Soap dispensers are being procured for some of the City’s public amenities in our most popular parks.

Skate parks will close from 30 March following Federal Government advice. Signage will be installed.

Many of our parks are in spectacular locations and can be booked for special events, such as weddings and birthday parties. Others may suit those who are looking for an off-leash park to take their dogs, a natural area for a peaceful walk amongst nature, playground for the children to have fun in or a barbecue in one of our beautiful parks.

Whatever the reason, we have lots of parks to suit your interests. Use our Park finder to search for the best Gold Coast parks for children, weddings, exploring nature, accessibility and more.

Report a problem

City officers fix footpaths, park benches, toilets and other amenities on a daily basis to ensure our parks and facilities are maintained in great shape. If you see a City asset that needs attending to, please let us know.

Park safety

Parks and their outdoor surrounds are not hazard free environments. It is important when visiting a park and/or conducting your event or activity in a park that you take necessary steps to address safety. For further information on keeping yourself and your parks safe, visit Park safety.
