Novel coronavirus (COVID-19) impacts

The health and wellbeing of the Gold Coast community, our customers and City employees is our first priority.

The City is receiving advice from the Federal Government and Queensland Health on a daily basis to inform our response to the Novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation in the city.

Parks remain open with visitors encouraged to take recommended health and social distancing precautions.

Playground equipment, BBQs and outdoor gym equipment: Our 600 playgrounds, 389 barbecues and 347 pieces of gym equipment will be closed until further notice. Signage will be installed over the next few days.

Park bookings: We will not take park bookings for at least two months.

Water fountains/bubblers: Based on advice from Queensland Health, these will remain turned on; however users should practice appropriate hygiene. The City will increase cleaning frequency.

Soap dispensers are being procured for some of the City’s public amenities in our most popular parks.

Skate parks will close from 30 March following Federal Government advice. Signage will be installed.

Complaints about non–compliance with current social distancing regulations as well as the use of playgrounds, skate parks, BBQs and fitness equipment should be referred to Police link hotline 131 444.
